Home fun for nightly practice
1. Reading for 30 minutes and complete Reading Journal assignment (due on the second day of each week). Talking points are found in the reading section of the "What our week looks like" tab.
2. Spelling, Grammar, or Wordly Wise (10-15 min)- rotates weekly.
Home fun should take no longer than an hour to complete, and should be able to be completed (for the most part) independently. If you find that your child is struggling and/or spending in excess of an hour a night, please let me know, so that we can work together to problem solve.
*Agendas are to be used as a reminder for the students and for parents about nightly home fun. It is also a way to ensure that you are able to see what work we are doing in the classroom.
Grading
- Students are expected to turn in quality work in a timely manner. If an assignment is late, not complete, or of poor quality, then the student will be asked to re-do and return the assignment to the teacher.
- Students are expected to write in complete sentences. Points will be deducted for failure to use complete sentences where noted and failure to properly use capitalization and punctuation.
- Projects, tests, and writing compositions will be double-weighted in Gradespeed. If a student scores below a 70% on any assignment, he or she may do corrections to raise the grade to a 70%.
- Our campus uses Gradespeed, a program that allows parents to access the grades of their child online. Information regarding your child’s school ID number and password will be sent home via the office. Please contact the Casis main office at (512) 414-2062 for questions or concerns regarding Gradespeed or for help setting up a parent connection to Gradespeed.
